Hidden technical errors found on this page

What this means for your business

Your page has hidden technical errors running in the background. These can cause features to break unexpectedly for some visitors without any obvious sign that something went wrong.

How to fix it
Medium
30 minutes–2 hours

  1. 1Console errors are often caused by plugin or app conflicts. Start by updating all plugins and themes to their latest versions — many errors are fixed in updates.
  2. 2If updates don't help, disable recently installed or updated plugins one by one and reload the page after each. When the error goes away, that's the culprit.
  3. 3For broken images or missing files: check that the affected URLs still exist. If a resource was moved or deleted, update the link or restore the file.
  4. 4If you're comfortable: open the page in Chrome, right-click anywhere, choose "Inspect", then click the "Console" tab. The red error messages will name the source — share a screenshot with your developer.
  5. 5After fixing, reload the page and confirm there are no more red error messages in the Console.

On WordPress

Install the free Query Monitor plugin — it breaks down JavaScript errors by plugin so you can pinpoint the source without guessing. Also check Dashboard → Updates for plugins or themes with a pending update, as many JS errors are fixed in newer versions.

On Shopify

Go to Online Store → Themes → Actions → Edit code and check theme.liquid for broken script references. For app-related errors, go to the app's support page in the Shopify App Store — most app developers list known bugs and fixes there.
