Terms of Service

These terms explain how SiteSprout works, what you are allowed to do with it, and the limits that apply to our service.

Last updated June 18, 2026

Quick summary

  • Free accounts are limited to one site and manual scans.
  • Paid plans renew monthly through Stripe until you cancel, and plan limits are shown in the product and pricing pages.
  • You may only scan sites you own or are authorized to review.
  • Do not misuse the service, interfere with scans, or try to access data you are not authorized to see.
  • Scan results are informational and do not guarantee compliance or a perfect result.

Using the service

By creating an account or using SiteSprout, you agree to these terms. You are responsible for the accuracy of the information you submit, for keeping your account credentials secure, and for making sure you have permission to scan the websites you add. These terms work together with our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle the data you submit.

Eligibility

SiteSprout is intended for business and professional use. You may use the service only if you are old enough to form a binding contract in your jurisdiction, and if you are using it on behalf of a business or other organization, you must have authority to bind that organization to these terms.

Account and security

You are responsible for all activity under your account. Keep your login credentials secure, use accurate account information, and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised.

Operator and governing law

SiteSprout is operated from Massachusetts, USA. These terms are governed by the laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If a dispute must be brought in court, the parties agree to the state or federal courts located in Massachusetts, unless applicable law requires a different forum.

If you use SiteSprout outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with the local laws that apply to your use of the service.

Scanning permission and service limits

You may only submit websites that you own or that you are authorized to scan. SiteSprout processes the URLs you add and may fetch or inspect publicly reachable content so we can generate reports, alerts, uptime checks, and historical scan data. We do not guarantee that every issue will be found, and the service may miss problems, generate false positives, or behave differently depending on the site being scanned.

We may enforce plan-based limits on the number of sites, pages per scan, scan frequency, concurrency, or queue priority. Paid plans may include scheduled scans and higher page limits, but those limits are still subject to the plan shown in the product or pricing page and to technical, abuse-prevention, or capacity constraints.

Plans, billing, and cancellations

Free and paid plan details are shown in the product and pricing page. Paid subscriptions are billed through Stripe and renew on a monthly basis until canceled. Taxes, fees, or similar charges may apply where required by law. You can cancel in the Stripe customer portal or by contacting us if the portal is unavailable.

Unless required by law, fees are non-refundable after a billing cycle begins. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period unless we say otherwise. If we change pricing or plan features, we will show the updated information before you purchase or renew. If a payment fails or your plan expires, we may suspend paid features until the account is brought current.

Acceptable use

Do not use SiteSprout to:

  • Break the law or violate someone else's rights.
  • Probe or attack our systems, workers, or infrastructure.
  • Interfere with scans, rate limits, queues, or platform controls.
  • Submit malicious content, spam, or abusive traffic.
  • Try to reverse engineer the service or bypass access controls.
  • Use the service to collect or expose data that you are not allowed to access.

Content and intellectual property

You keep ownership of the content you submit. We keep ownership of the SiteSprout product, code, design, and branding. We grant you a limited right to use the service for your internal business needs under these terms.

To provide the service, you grant us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, process, transmit, store, analyze, and display the content you submit, including the sites you ask us to scan and the scan results we generate. You also represent that you have the rights needed to give us that permission.

Third-party services

SiteSprout uses third-party services to run the platform, including payment processing, email delivery, hosting, analytics, queueing, and database infrastructure. Those services may have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for outages, limits, or actions outside our reasonable control.

Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access to the service if you violate these terms, create a security or abuse risk, or use the service in a way that harms SiteSprout, other customers, or third parties.

Service changes, disclaimers, and limits

We may change, suspend, or discontinue features as the product evolves. Scan results are informational only and may not catch every issue or prove that a site is compliant, secure, or error-free. The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis, without warranties of perfection, uninterrupted uptime, or guaranteed scan results.

To the extent allowed by law, SiteSprout and its suppliers are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us for the service in the 12 months before the claim, or the minimum amount allowed by law if that is greater.

Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless SiteSprout from any claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses arising out of your use of the service, your sites or content, your violation of these terms, or your violation of any law or third-party right.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the posted version and may notify you in the app or by email when appropriate. If you keep using SiteSprout after the updated terms take effect, you accept the new version.
